The old days aren’t what they used to be.

If you were fourteen and could know what your father was like when he was a kid, two things would happen. First, you would probably understand the man a lot better. Second, you’d probably score a crazy amount of dirt to use on him. That’s what happens after JJ discovers a treasure trove of betamax tapes with a hundred episodes of “Big Hair” one of the first ever reality shows – starring JJ’s 14 year old dad and his big-80’s-haired family. And what JJ learns is that his now uber-strict dad was once a Flock-of-Seagulls-headed hell-raiser himself. Now as father and son navigate the challenges of growing up and parenting, JJ uses his secret reality show learnings both to school his father and to strengthen their tricky but loving relationship.
